• Ohio law permits a credit against the state income tax for contributions of an individual up to $50 for single filed returns and $100 for married joint filers (line 56 - Ohio Political Contributions Credit).
• State law requires political committees to report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $100 in a calendar year.
• Corporate checks are prohibited by law.
• Contributions are not charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
• Ohio Campaign Finance law permits individuals to contribute up to $10,670 to an Ohio legislative candidate per election cycle.
