Representative Ross McGregor to Present Springfield City Schools with

American Flags as Part of Veterans Day Celebration 

(Columbus) State Representative Ross McGregor will be visiting several Springfield City Schools locations on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 to present American Flags for use in classrooms.

The flags, purchased by Representative McGregor, will be presented to teachers and students for classrooms that are currently lacking an American Flag which students may Pledge Allegiance to each morning.

This project came about following a request from students at Horace Mann Elementary School, who contacted Representative McGregor’s office earlier this year requesting flags. The Representative decided to open the requests for flags to all schools within the Springfield City School District, and will present the flags to the schools on Veterans Day, a day set aside to recognize and honor those Americans who have honored America through service to their nation in the American Armed Forces.

Members of the media are invited to attend one of the presentations. Attached is a list of times and locations that the Representative will be attending. Members of the media are encouraged to contact the individual schools first to see that they can gain access to the school during the presentations.
